Who the hell are you?
My name is Amanda Lee and I’m a therapist (Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate) living near Denver, CO.
I specialize in “complex” mental health issues, which is a fancy way of saying I take care of people who have multiple things going on - neurodivergence, chronic illness, personality disorders, chronic suicidality, and life changes. I also specialize in LGBTQIA+ issues, specifically working with the transgender and gender-expansive community.
I consider myself a gentle, curious, and firm therapist. I’m going to tell you how it is, we’re going to explore how we got here, and we’re going to look at what’s actually going on. Together.
You can find out more about me in my bio or on my Psychology Today page. If you’re interested, let’s talk and see if I’m a good fit for you.

Why Therapy?
Therapy is a word that gets thrown around a lot now.
But why do it?
Some people come to therapy in search of answers - why am I this way? Why do I react or do the things I do? Therapy provides a way to access different perspectives.
Some people come to therapy to fix problems. Mental health issues. Relationship conflict. Struggles with finding satisfaction. Therapy provides a way to understand these problems in detail.
Some people are looking to find a way to be the self they want to be. Therapy provides a mirror to really get a good look.
But I want to be honest. Therapy doesn’t give you the answers. It doesn’t fix problems. It won’t make you your best self. But it is a space to understand, to question, and to be. And therapy can help you get to the answers already in yourself.
So why do it?
Ultimately?
That answer is up to you.

Why you?
Good question.
I provide a place where you can feel seen, heard, and accepted. Nothing is off-limits to talk about. Your honest thoughts, including the ones that aren’t pretty, are okay here.
Why? This creates a relationship where you can feel a sense of being known and being safe. In safety and in being seen, we can start to understand - together.
The point of understanding? So you can decide what you want to do next and how you want things to look in the future.
Does this mean we talk about the past? Yes.
Does this mean we talk about hard things? Yes.
Does this mean you’ll find what you’re looking for? We’ll find that out. Together.
(FYI, you can see my credentials and specifics in my bio.)

Why does your website look like a shop that sells incense and gemstones?
Therapeutic change is kind of magical and I wanted to invoke that.
(real reason: It’s pretty)
